Mark E. Hodges began practicing real estate law in 1985 as an associate attorney with a prominent real estate law firm serving Seattle and Bellevue, Washington.

In 1988, he established his own practice, now known as Real Estate Law Firm, P.S., providing legal services, escrow services, and §1031 tax-deferred exchange services to a growing client base.

Building on that success, Mr. Hodges founded Exchange Counsel, Inc. in 1989, a corporation dedicated to facilitating §1031 tax-deferred exchanges. In 2004, he founded RealTrust IRA Alternatives, LLC, a self-directed IRA administrator and custodian specializing in alternative asset investments held within IRAs and 401(k) plans. In 2019, Mr. Hodges obtained a Washington State charter for Foundation Trust Company, LLC, which now serves as the custodial entity for various self-directed IRA administrators.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hodges has authored numerous articles and taught countless legal and educational courses for professionals across the real estate and financial industries.
